Library Journal Review for The Pro-Child Way: Parenting with an Ex

There is much to like about Kellner’s work, both in organization and in content. She takes 46 common contentious divorce scenarios, such as late pick-ups and the ex’s new spouse, and breaks them down into two approaches: the "Old Way" (an internal dialog of trash talking the ex, both accurately done and containing likely elements of truth), and the "Pro Child Way," which emphasizes zipping the lip if not turning the cheek to assist your child in maintaining a healthy relationship with both parents. She gives concrete sample sentences and sound advice for looking at the big picture of a child’s longterm emotional health. By Julianne J. Smith

UnTapped Talent owner Rena Wilson Fox is one of thirty-eight contributors to Be the Star You Are! for TEENS: Simple Gifts for Living, Loving, Laughing, Learning, and Leading. Rena is excited to be involved in the project and back to her love of writing; the focus of her excerpt is gratitude.

When a job opportunity for her husband took her family to the country of Jordan for over a year, she viewed it as an adventure. Her nearly 13-year-old daughter had a much different perspective. Rena's contribution describes how they used gratitude to make a shift in this perspective and allow joy to creep back into life.

Be the Star You Are!® 501 c3 is a charity that empowers women, families, and youth through improved literacy, life skills, and positive media. Be the Star You Are! for TEENS helps celebrate the 10th anniversary of the charity's founding. The book is now available for sale, retailing for $17.95; all proceeds benefit the charity.
